The Sunshine Coast

Well,  today is our last day in Aus and we are moving on to New Zealand so here are a few highlights of our stay on the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane:  Thanks a lot to our woonderful Air BnB hosts Mark & Alisha for lending us their new home AND their car.  We hope to see you guys later in the year.

The beach:

Our favourite beach spot..Mooloolaba Spit..

Coolum beach

Kite surfing on King's beach:

Kings Beach Caloundra

Karen kite surfing..................NOT!

Around the Mooloolaba wharf and 'millionaire's row':

The Glasshouse Mountains:
We spent a day away from the beach and explored the Glasshouse Mountains.  We intended to walk a lot but the weather was SO hot we had to drive more than we walked just to get the air conditioning!

Brisbane:

We spent the day in the city and decided to do the river walk starting at the City gardens.  This time last year all of this was under a LOT of water. They've done a great job in sorting it out.

The City Gardens

We took three hours to do the river walk in the city - not that it was that far but we walked really slowly due to the heat!

A mix of the old and new in Brisbane

The Storey Bridge

Even the lizards were too hot to move quickly!

We booked a sunset dinner at the Mount Coo-Tha Summit restaurant overlooking the city:

What a view for dinner!
