We had spent a day or two at the Sidmouth Folk Festival many times whilst Mum and Dad where living in Honiton but this year Val, Dave, Malc and I got to spend four days together and we had a great time -

Day one - we had an African Welly Dance lesson.....well the girls did!

There were some VERY scary Morris Dancers................

The weather was a bit cold!

We worked SO hard we had to have a cream tea...........

Even Julie's dog Piglet was worn out!

Washington DC............

A little bit late in updating this blog as we actually went to Washington at the end of June!  We stayed with our friends Mike and Jean and experienced the hottest weather we have ever had as well as the most violent storm.  However, we still had a great time and spent a few days up in the blue ridge mountains.......sadly we didn't get to see where The Waltons was filmed....that was a step too far for Malcolm!

We visited the Luray Caverns.......I think the best stalagmite and stalactite caves we have seen.

We also met up with Mike and Ingrid too.................

We ventured out into the heat and visited Harpers Ferry where the Maryland campaign of the American Civil War was fought in 1862......

Lots of ways to keep cool..........

We also visited the Capitol and the space museum............
