We finally arrived!

Friday 19th November 2010:

We finally arrived in Cape Town via Johannesburg yesterday and settled into our house.  It was lovely to see it again and we were amazed at how big some of the plants had grown.  They were only planted 4 years ago and the black and white bird of paradise plants are getting huge and very pretty.

We took a walk along the beach before dusk and because it had been a cloudy day the picture looked very blue!!

Sunday 21st November 2010:
It was sunny for most of the day today but there was a lot of cloud on the mountain.

The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront was buzzing, bands were playing and lots going on for Divali celebrations.

Malc tried to make friends with a good looking lady….

We have also been adopted by two Hadeda birds.  They are very noisy and some people see them as pests but we think they are lovely.  They stay together in pairs and spend their time digging worms out of the lawn.  They seem to move together a bit like synchronized swimmers so we've nick named them Fred and Ginger!  Pictures will follow when we get close enough.

Almost packed and ready to go

Move day was Wednesday 10th Nov and on Tuesday Malc's beloved bike was collected by an equally enthusiastic BMW biker who will be the new owner...........he shed a tear as he took it out for the last time.

We finally moved everything (and moved some back as there was no room at the flat!) by today so just some cleaning to do, a skip to fill and and we are off to Cape Town on Wednesday night.
